A fiberotomy or pericision is an orthodontic surgical procedure designed to sever the gingival fibers around a tooth with a scalpel. It usually reduces the tendency to relapse of tooth rotations corrected by dental braces or other treatments. I had this procedure with the warning that sensitive to painful gums could follow for 1-4 days. NOT! After the anesthetic wore off in an hour or so, I felt some tingling, but no pain. Dr. Anderton is so wonderful — I truly can’t say enough about my experience with him! At 9pm on Saturday my front tooth chipped (this also happened to be my wedding day!!), he made a special trip into the office at 10pm to glue my porcelain veneer back together. He had me in and out in under 20 minutes, salvaging the rest of my weekend taking pictures with family. He also reached out Sunday morning to check in. Dr. Anderton is everything you could want in a dentist!

Dr. Anderton and staff provide well rounded dental care. I get excellent preventative care and information. They work with you to make the best decision for your restorative work. They immediately made time for me when I needed emergency care. And, it doesn’t hurt!
