Everyone is very responsive to my needs. The staff couldn’t be nicer and their knowledge of my oral surgery procedure made me feel comfortable and safe. My back was hurting and Alyssa asked if she could get me some extra padding for the chair. I said yes and she brought it and it really helped. She offered to get a blanket if I was cold. I was having trouble eating my food after one day waking up with a very sore jaw and gums. After several visits with my current dentist, my PCP and a referral to an ENT specialist, I spoke to my son about my dental troubles, and he told me about Dr. Elrod at Distinctive Dental Services (DDS) in Lake Jackson, TX, who completely resolved his major teeth problems. I was nervous, as always, seeing a dentist, but from the very start, he put me at ease and did a thorough checkup of my teeth and my mouth. He explained that I had a bad case of TMJ which made my jaw un stable causing it to move in all directions and worst of all, my teeth on the left didn’t even meet.There was a gap. No wonder I couldn’t chew and was on a soft diet. He assured me that even though this was a difficult case, he would do a dental procedure and hopefully have me chewing without concern again. What he did was a miracle as he built up the teeth on my lower jaw and I immediately was thrilled I could chew my food again. After a couple more visits, I am able to do what I couldn’t do for many months. If Dr. Elrod and his team were able to get me (at age 83) back to a normal life again, I guarantee no problem would be too difficult. He is thorough, will not accept mediocre treatment, uses state of the art knowledge and equipment. And most of all he cares very much about his patients. You just know it because of how he treats you. What I noticed was that his whole office staff and assistants work together as a team. They seem to always be happy , cheerful, and caring. If you don’t know who to go to in order to maintain or solve your dental concerns, just go and checkout DDS. I am forever grateful that my son recommended I go there.
