I’m the husband David referred by my wife Loretta RN to Dr Avera .He is skilled, the consummate professional, and highly knowledgeable. He received his doctorate of periodontist & faculty at UCLA. My first visit to talk and get advice on my situation was way better than I could have thought. Went and the nice lady at the desk Lupita was very welcoming and pleasant. Got there early so I could make sure all paperwork was in order. Got called back and had a very nice lady named Anna who took me to a room and asked some questions and then took a 360 degree scan of the mouth. Now I go back with Anna, as she was doing things she explained what it was, what it was going to, what it was used for,...read more etc. I have to tell you she was so down to earth (she made me feel comfortable). Then Dr. Avera came in and the great personality train continued. You know how many medical professionals don’t have a bed side manner, this was just the opposite. Down to earth, teacher, friendly, explained and laid out everything that would happen if I chose to follow through. Just a great person and professional. Best experience I have ever had going into unknown territory. read less

20+ years ago i was diagnosed with extreme periodontal disease. Was told by 2 dentists the disease was too extensive and to cut my losses by having all teeth extracted. Dr Avera saved most of my teeth thru a long complicated and systematic process which was very comfortable. i was never frightened although it was my phobic fear that prevented me from seeking regular dental care in the first place. Dr. Avera is what you want a dentist to be. Excellent professionally and a wonderful human being. He is busy but always available and never rushing. He is thorough and I can relax knowing I am in caring expert hands. His office colleagues are the same and the overall result is great and sometimes a miracle.

I had a dental emergency and this practice was supposed to be closed for 2 weeks. Dr. Avera's really sweet receptionist Jennifer helped me get an appointment anyways and Dr. Avera and his staff came in just to help me out. The tooth extraction process was literally painless and took way less time than I was expecting. The office is really clean and I had a great view of the trees from my procedure chair.
