Dr. Niegsch has been providing clear orthodontics with Invisalign for over 11 years and patients are thrilled with their life-changing results. Dr. Niegsch is committed to serving and being generous in our beautiful community of Ames and surrounding communities. For many years he has volunteered for Iowa Mission of Mercy (IMOM) and is now serving as the Co-Director for this statewide event. Dr. Niegsch has held free dental care days for Veterans and Active Duty Military for several years through the Smiles for FREEdom organization. Annually, the office supports the Story County United Way, Ames Youth & Shelter Services, the Ames Emergency Residence Project, local schools and churches, as well as charities that are near and dear to our team’s hearts and our patients’ hearts. His wife, Marcie, helps provide community outreach for the office around managing their busy family of six. Ben Niegsch, Dr. Niegsch’s 11-year-old son has Down syndrome, so it’s a passion for the Niegsch family to provide awareness and support for those of all abilities. Dr. Niegsch received his undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of Iowa. After college he followed in his dad’s footsteps and enlisted in the US Navy, where he served as an active duty dentist in Japan and Chicago, IL. Dr. Daniel Krook has been practicing dentistry at Dentistry At Somerset in Ames for over 2 years and continues his post-graduate education with the Kois Center for Restorative Excellence in Seattle, WA. Dr. Krook received additional experience at a hospital-based dental residency program in Reading, Pennsylvania. After being out east for 6 years, Dr. Krook is thoroughly enjoying being back in Central Iowa close to his family. Dr. Krook’s favorite aspect of being a dentist is the privilege of serving people on a daily basis. He’s passionate about helping patients overcome dental anxiety, giving people their smiles back, getting patients out of pain, and helping the less fortunate. He has participated in many dental charity events such as Smiles for FREEdom and Mission of Mercy events in Iowa, Florida and Pennsylvania. During his residency in Reading, Pennsylvania Dr. Krook was recognized by the Keystone Farmworker Health Program for his work in providing free dental screenings and treatment for children without the means for basic dental care. When not treating his patients, Dr. Krook stays active by riding his bike, kayaking and playing hockey.
