Children's Dental World

Dr. Sam grew up in Michigan and spent most of his youth in the suburbs of Detroit. He attended Kalamazoo College for his undergraduate studies and eventually found his way to Chicago for dental school. He joined his current practice in 2002 and immediately felt at home. Since his return to Chicago, Dr. Sam has had wonderful opportunities to work with children in settings outside of the office. Through Lakeview Church, Dr. Sam was able to practice dentistry overseas in Belize (2002) and Nicaragua (2004 and 2005), helping the poor and underprivileged with their critical dental needs. He also volunteered time at the Lawndale Christian Health Center to serve the dental needs of the children in the surrounding communities. In addition, Dr. Sam enjoys working as an associate clinical professor in the pediatric dental department at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Sam is happily married and enjoys spending time with his wife, Karen, son, Christian and daughters, Karis and Grace. He is also a dedicated sports fan—though he loves Chicago, he cannot give up his loyalty to his beloved Detroit sports teams. Dr. Shikha Bubna is a board-certified pediatric dentist and has been practicing for several years. She grew up in the Bay Area of Northern California, and completed a 6-year accelerated dental program at University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry. After finishing dental school, she completed a pediatric dental residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Bubna joined Children’s Dental World in the fall of 2009 and enjoys working in an office where she can truly make children feel at home. With every visit, a child chooses a movie of his/her choice, and leaves with prizes and balloons - which helps children look forward to their next visit at the dentist. Dr. Bubna enjoys spending time with each child, to address any questions or to alleviate any fears he/she may have. She believes that the prevention of dental disease must start at an early age, and taking the time to teach patients how to care for their teeth leads to good habits starting at a young age. Dr. Neena Bhole was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and remained in Georgia for both college and dental school. She attended the University of Georgia, where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia in May 2011. She had no doubt that she want...Read Moreed to be in the city and decided to complete her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago. As the oldest of ten siblings, Dr. Neena has always found working and volunteering with children to be tremendously rewarding. She worked with the children at the Boys and Girls Club, and enjoyed teaching children about oral health care at elementary schools when she lived in Georgia, and has been involved in the Special Olympics in both Georgia and Illinois. In 2009, while at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Neena traveled to Costa Rica with an organization focused on providing dental care for underserved areas of the country. She is looking forward to continuing with volunteer opportunities in the Chicago community as well as overseas. Since moving to Chicago in 2011, Dr. Neena has tried to take advantage of all the fun things the city has to offer. She loves trying new restaurants, listening to live music at Millennium Park, and going to various art and cultural festivals.
