Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your honest feedback. We truly understand your frustration with the timing of our departure from the MetLife network, and we’re sorry that it occurred at such an inconvenient time. Unfortunately, much of the timing was beyond our control. For several years, we accepted reimbursement rates from MetLife that were extremely low. Over the past year, we made multiple attempts to negotiate more sustainable rates. When those efforts were unsuccessful, we even hired a third-party negotiator to advocate on our behalf. Despite these efforts, neither we nor the negotiator received meaningful communication or progress from MetLife regarding reimbursement adjustments. At the same time, we were exploring relationships with other insurance networks in anticipation that we might ultimately have no choice but to leave MetLife’s network. Those potential agreements came with deadlines for acceptance, which required us to make this difficult decision earlier than we would have preferred. We truly hoped we could reach a fair agreement with MetLife and avoid leaving their network altogether. However, after more than a year without response, and given the rising costs of operating a dental practice, we could no longer sustain the significant write-offs required under their reimbursement structure. We sincerely regret that this change was necessary and appreciate your understanding. We hope you will continue to allow us the honor of providing your dental care during this transition. If you do remain with MetLife, we also hope you may find that any potential out-of-pocket costs remain minimal, as many of our current out-of-network patients experience.
