Wow! My first time at the dentist in years & years, I was anxious and had bad memories of what going to the dentist was like.... but.... this place has changed my mind about the dentist! Had a lovely conversation about singing to plants, gmo bunnies and learned a lot about what actually happens with tooth enamel. During my first appointment I admitted to hating mouthwash no matter what I’ve tried and they even gave me a sample of some mouthwash that to my surprise I love, I just think they are constantly going above and beyond there. The two times I’ve been , I’ve had very quick and easy appointments, the financing they provide is awesome as well and I generally feel very taken care of and not afraid to book my next cleaning in 6 months! Dr Skinner is very professional and explains all of your options. He doesn't seem like he is forcing services on you but that you are part of the decision. His staff is very friendly and keep you informed through everything. They become like family and know you on a first name basis.

I have childhood trauma around forced drug usage, and my drug addicted parents never had teeth. I was never given a solid foundation around dental health, and because of this, I have struggled with dental health all throughout my 20’s. As a student, I developed an abscess, and through a free clinic was referred to a very outdated dentist who used ice on my teeth and despite my protests (I am allergic to metal) placed a metal screw in my front canine tooth. After graduating, and getting my first ...read morejob in Texas, I found a dentist who was able to tackle a few fillings and remove the screw but it required making the tooth a root canal. A few years later, and I’m back in Logan. I realized that I really need to address my dental health, so I tried a dentist in Logan, but ended up having a panic attack mid-cleaning and had to leave the office in tears. After getting a recommendation to “Gentle Family Dental” and Brett Skinner from a few people who I trust, I decided to try again. I explained to Brett that I have extreme anxiety around getting dental work, and am very self-conscious about the state of my dental health. Brett and his hygenists team were absolutely wonderful. Before doing any work, they took time to interview me about what went wrong with my last appointment, to make sure that they could do their best job and making me feel comfortable. The entire time they were working on me, the hygienists were constantly checking in and asking how I was doing and allowed me to take breaks if needed. It was so high-tech too! They had a high-speed camera that was able to reconstruct a #D model of my whole mouth, and have a device that can print crowns in their own office! I expressed concerns to Brett about how costly my treatment plan was going to be, and he took the time to explore options with me, so that I could make the best informed decisions about how and what to tackle first/and what out-of-pocket expenses might be worth it. Stacie helped me solidify a treatment plan that worked within my budget and with my insurance. Because I have such anxiety around dental appointments, Brett was able and willing to do all 9 fillings in a single appointment (and even addressed a few small cosmetic issues free of charge)! He will be taking out my wisdom teeth later this month, and from there, we will continue the process of getting my dental health to a good place. It means so much to say that even though I’ll still have general anxiety about a trip to the dentist, I’m no longer afraid to go back to this Dentist! Not once did he or his team judge my poor dental health, and not once was anyone unwilling to answer in-depth any questions I had. After going to a dentist who didn’t have my long-term dental health interests in mind, and saw my poor dental health as a lost cause, I am so grateful that I met Brett and his team. It is immediately obvious how passionate Brett and his team are about dental health, and how much they want a positive and collaborative relationship with their patients. I’m no longer self conscious about my smile, and I feel that I’m not just doing band-aid solutions to my dental health, but that this team is helping me take a proactive approach to long term dental health. Best Dental Practice in Northern Utah. At a fundamental level, we all know there is a wide range of skill in surgical medicine. I'm not a dentist, but as an ophthalmology micro-surgeon with years of surgical experience, I know a skilled doctor, when I see them. I actually love going to see Dr Skinner. He is friendly, professional and actually has a good sense of humor. He always treats me like he's really happy to see me and asks how I've been. He remember my name and my husbands name. Never had a dentist that treated me like one of his friends. He is so efficient and thorough. HE's awesome.
