Words cannot describe how thankful I am to have found Dr. Chelsea Watkins, Dr. Doug Thompson, & the rest of the team at Integrated Oral Medicine (IOM). As I am in my late 20’s, I wanted to find a young dentist who would be in practice for years to come. However, I struggled to find someone who was young yet also had the training, experience, & knowledge to make me feel comfortable in the quality of care I was receiving. One factor which stood out to me about Dr. Watkins, apart from her exceptional background, was the fact she practices alongside her childhood dentist & longtime mentor, Dr. Doug Thompson. This unique team dynamic coupled with Dr. Thompson’s longstanding career of excellence made me confident that Dr. Watkins would be nothing short of extraordinary (which was true). The dentists at IOM undoubtedly have differentiated themselves from the vast majority of providers who fall victim to becoming “too comfortable” with mundane routines, subpar care, & negative mentality. My first appointment was at 7:30 AM on a cold & rainy Monday. While it was gloomy outside, inside IOM was the exact opposite. The office was filled with passionate staff who were full of life & radiated positivity. It’s obvious that the healthcare professionals at Integrated Oral Medicine continuously invest both time & money in-order to expand personal knowledge & obtain the latest resources available. By making these extra personal sacrifices, they are able to provide patients with the highest quality of care possible. Not only does their office have state-of-the-art equipment including an onsite lab; they also have equipped rooms with elegant touches aimed towards patient safety & comfort (i.e. “Molekule” Air Purifiers, “Sonos” speakers playing relaxing background music, cozy office decor). Upon entering for my first visit, I was immediately (& pleasantly) greeted by their dental hygienist, Kayla, who was able to place me in a room immediately. Both Kayla & Dr. Watkins came well prepared & knew my complete chart/history prior to our encounter. This was such a pleasant surprise as it seems most doctors spend the whole interaction staring at computers & clipboards then rush out before patients can ask questions. Even though my visit was not with Dr. Thompson, he still went out of his way to drop in & talk to me which speaks volumes about his outstanding character. Dr. Watkins, Dr. Thompson, & Kayla all demonstrated superb bedside manner & made it apparent that they truly care. They had natural “people skills” that cannot be taught or learned— you’re either born with it or not. Each of them sought to learn my dental goals in order to formulate a personalized oral care plan based on their expertise & my desires. Every provider clearly explained what was being done & why, making sure to answer all my questions. During my patient exam I quickly appreciated Dr. Watkins’ exceptional manual dexterity & delicate “surgeon’s touch”. This skillset combined with her outstanding personality make her a particularly fine choice for young children, elderly, those with smaller mouthes, anxious people, or those who suffer from Orofacial Pain. Fortunately I live close by, but if that changes I will definitely make the drive for such remarkable care. I am extremely grateful to find such a phenomenal dental practice & they genuinely changed my perception of dentists & dentistry as a whole. read less

I was referred to Dr. Thompson because I had a loose 18 year old implant, and my referring dentist did not know technology that old. Dr. Thompson examined my implant and when I mentioned that it had been loose almost from the very beginning, he asked me if I remembered the surgeon. I didn’t, but I remembered the address. He started naming the surgeons and when he hit the right one I remembered. Then Dr. Thompson named the brand of implant. He laid out what he needed to do and how much it would c...read moreost, with the caveat that he would not know for sure until he took out the bad post and actually examined it. I said OK, he went to the basement and got the correct post, removed the bad post, replaced it with a new and improved post, and I walked out with a solid implant for the first time in 18 years. read less

My visit went extremely well from the greeting at the door to the professionalism of the whole office. Very bright and accommodating staff to excellent Dentists and Hygienists. A first class office both inside and out. I have never enjoyed a Dental visit more . Thank you IOM.

Even people who don’t like to go to the dentist will be pleasantly surprised at how well things turn out. Everyone is so nice, and truly care about your total health as well as your teeth !!

Have been using Dr. Borovich as my dentist for over 40 years. Service outstanding, always available for an emergency. Staff very professional, yet friendly & courteous.. Options are always presented, explained well, no push..Just, "we're here to help"..Cannot imagine not having Dr. Borovich around !!!

You are lucky to have this dentist in your area! Dr. Doug Thompson is a superstar in the dental world. He lectures all over the world teaching dentists like me about how dental care can improve people’s overall health and well-being. We have learned so much from Dr. Thompson in the last year that it has revolutionized the care in our Austin office. Check them out - you’ll be glad you did!
