For anyone ( especially those nervous about dental visits), this is the place. I've been going to the office in Lawrence for several years and they opened the De Soto office, which is closer for me. Both offices treat patients like family. The attention to gentle care and painless treatments goes beyond the norm! Dr. Newkirk demonstrates the win-win combination of technical expertise and personal compassion.
Thank you Free State Dental for making my 4 year olds first appointment a breeze. From the front desk to the cleaning/X-rays and dental evaluation, all so efficient and kind. We will be returning.!

I love the new location in DeSoto, it's much closer to us now that we have moved to Lenexa. I love the front desk and my hygienist! Between me and the kids we have meet all the dentists and have had a good experience with all of them. Our son, 12 yo, had to have laser tongue tie last year and they were able to preform it in house, it went totally smoothly!
Every visit to both their locations...all personnel from the front desk to the dental chair are the most friendly, polite, and experienced I've had the opportunity to work with!!!
Always liked my treatment at the Lawrence location. This time I tried out the Desoto location and was not disappointed! This place is great, totally new office was so nice. All the staff was just as great at this location. From front desk check in, to the treatment from the hygienist to the dr. check I felt like I was in good hands. Great job Free State Dental of Desoto!!

The title should say it all- I’ve never had a better experience with a cavity filling. Typically a *terrible* experience, Free State Dental makes dental work a breeze. Everyone is so kind, professional, skilled, and calm. As someone who has historically despised the dentist, I can truly say: I love coming to FSD! If you’re looking for dental care that cares about you as a person, takes good care of your teeth, and truly listens to your needs, Free State Dental is the place for you!
