Dr. Kristen Gibilisco (former Bonkowski) is passionate in restoring a patient's confidence in their smile. Her approach is with compassion and understanding. She graduated from Westfield High School and completed her undergraduate training at Northeastern University, Boston in 2009. She completed a one year residency program at Augusta University in July 2015 with advanced training in general dentistry, including IV sedation, implant placement, sinus lifts, surgical extractions including wisdom teeth and bone grafting techniques. She is dedicated to learning new technology to make dental visits easier on her patients, such as the TRIOS scanning (instead of taking molds) and 3D CBCT imaging. Her new interest is in Botox as a therapeutic treatment in TMJ and orofacial pain, as well as wrinkle prevention and esthetics. She stays active in organized dentistry through her memberships in American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and Vermont Dental Society (VDS). She earned the fellowship award in International College of Implantologists (ICOI) in February 2016 and will be recieving her fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) this upcoming June in Orlando, FL. Her future goals are to expand spa dentistry to her patients which includes warm neck wraps and calming meditation music. Outside the office you will find her spending time with her husband Mike, family and friends. She is filled with wanderlust and enjoys traveling (just as much as Mike does). Ever since he can remember, Dr. Mike has wanted to help people. He originally planned to be a doctor, but he had a great relationship with his orthodontist while growing up, and he saw first-hand how happy the man was with his career and his patients’ results. Once he reached high school, Dr. Mike knew that dentistry was the right fit for him – and the rest is history! Where Did You Study Dentistry? After earning his Bachelor of Science at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Mike pursued his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He also completed a General Practice Residency program at Danbury Hospital to further his skills. Since then, he has pursued regular continuing education through the Spear programs. He is also a proud member of the American Dental Association, Vermont Dental Association, and the American Academy of Clear Aligners. Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do? Dr. Mike is happily married to Dr. Kristen, who also practices here at Elevate Dental. He’s also close with his parents and his younger brother, who works in healthcare IT. As for hobbies, he enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle, especially water skiing, kayaking, hiking, running, and enjoying the water at Lake Champlain in the warmer months. He also likes going to outdoor concerts, cooking, traveling (especially to Europe), and playing the drums.
