Dr. G. Philip Spencer, a specialist in Periodontics, has treated
patients with periodontal disease and gum recession problems here in Austin since he graduated from his specialty training. Dr. Spencer now practices at Parkside Dental Specialty Group. His practice here is exclusively limited to Periodontal Treatment.

A native Texan, Dr. Spencer grew up in Austin, attended Lanier HS graduating with honors, then enrolled in the pre-med/dental program at Baylor University, where his high academic standing and position as a biology teaching assistant won him membership in Tri Beta, the national biological Honor Society, and Alpha Epsilon Delta, the national pre-med/dental Honor Society. After graduating cum laude with a BA in Biology, Dr. Spencer attended the University of Texas Dental School at Houston. He earned the senior student Award in Orthodontics for exceptional clinical performance and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in the top 10 percent of his class. Dr. Spencer then worked as a teaching assistant in the department of periodontics and completed his postdoctoral training in his specialty of Periodontics in 1981, from the Dental School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Dr. Spencer attends numerous continuing education lectures
throughout the year, and he has been an active member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Southwest Society of Periodontics, Texas Society of Periodontics.
Dr. Spencer is married, has one son, and enjoys boating, jet skiing, sports cars, as well as reading, traveling, and collecting American Indian Art. He is enthusiastic about periodontics and patient education, in order to establish excellent periodontal health, so patients can maintain their natural teeth for as long as possible. Read Less
