Abby Pershke Johnson was born and raised in Devils Lake, ND. She grew up on a 1,000‐acre farm where she learned to hunt, fish, raise cattle, ride horses, and drive at an early age. She realized that she wanted to become a dentist at the age of twelve, and she later worked in a dental practice during the summer before college. She was accepted into the early admission program at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry during her sophomore year of undergrad. She completed her BA at Concord...Read Moreia College, Moorhead MN in 2003. During dental school, she was very active in ASDA and was appointed to a national position as the ADPAC student representative. She realized her passion for public health while volunteering on a dental mission trip in the Copper Canyon, Mexico. Abby has been working as a general dentist at a federally qualified health center, the Fond du Lac Indian Reservation near Duluth, MN, for the past eight years. She is passionate about education/outreach and served on the Health Fair committee and the Children’s Dental Health committee at Fond du Lac. Abby and her husband Noah have a 16‐month‐old daughter, Sylvie. They enjoy spending as much time outside as possible, skiing, swimming, running, hiking, traveling, and exploring northern Minnesota. They are excited to move to Nashville and will likely return to Minnesota after residency. Read Less
