Dr. Frank Altman graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine in 1998. He graduated with thesis honors near the top of his class. Dr. Altman continued his training in the General Practice Residency Program through Buffalo General Hospital, where he gained extensive surgical experience and perfected his clinical skills. Prior to dental school, he graduated Magna cum Laude from SUNY Geneseo with a dual degree in both Biology and Anthropology. So, I was in need of some dental work and saw an ad on TV for a dental practice and decided to go there, well that turned into a "bait and switch" scenario due to my location and them not taking my insurance at the advertised location and lets just say that I was already apprehensive about going to the dentist and the visit to this "other" location just confirmed my apprehensiveness! Immediately after leaving this "other" place I called Altman Dental and spoke with Nicole who talked me down "off...Read More the ledge" of the above experience and provided me with a "calming" and "logical" plan of attack to deal with my issues! THANK YOU Nicole! Upon arrival to Altman Dental and having "dental anxiety"... which slowly subsided due to the atmosphere and the staffs "general attitude" about helping the patient!!! I was greeted by Nicole and Meghan and they immediately made me feel at ease and Dr. Gellert was AMAZINGLY COMFORTING in his bedside manner with explaining what was going on with my issues and what he recommended as a solution all while not making me feel even more apprehensive about seeing a dentist!!! These people are GREAT! If you are in search of a dental practice like I was, do yourself a favor and come here to Altman Dental!!

I recently returned to Amherst after living in Alabama for 5 years. My first stop was Altman Dental. Dr. Altman is, by far, the best dentist I have seen. He explains and "check 's in" with every procedure. He is experienced. I have been with him since 2005 and will never leave. His staff is exemplary. They go above and beyond to assist with appointments and insurance. I always recommend Altman Dental when someone asks for a dentist.
