I always did well in my science courses in school and always participated in school, local and state science fairs (winning my share of many awards for my research and projects). I was also very talented with my hands; some may even say “artistic.” And that is what attracted me to dentistry. I am able to integrate my passion for the sciences and love of artistry into a career I enjoy. I not only help people get healthier but also improve people’s self-esteem and confidence by creating radiant and beautiful smiles. Some may view dentistry as “a necessary evil,” I view dentistry as the ability to transform people’s lives. That is why I “love” being a dentist and can think of no other profession I would rather be in. Dr. Xhelo has been providing quality dental care to all his patients for over 25 years focusing on a comprehensive approach to oral health by treating and educating his patients which helps keep his patients healthy in between visits. He understands the importance of listening to his patients and helping them feel comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Xhelo is one of only a handful of General Dentists in the state of Illinois who are certified and licensed to perform Sedation Dentistry. Through Sedation Dentistry, Dr. Xhelo has successfully and safely cared for thousands of patients and has helped these patients get the dental care and treatment they so desperately needed but could not have gotten any other way due to their fear and anxiety about visiting the dentist.
