Pin Retention – Per Tooth, In Addition To Restoration - Dental Procedure Code Description

This dental procedure code refers to the placement of metal reinforcing pins used to further secure and strengthen any type of dental restoration. These self-setting screw pins are screwed into the tooth to act as a framework for any filling layered into the cavity of a tooth to restore its new form. The code is used to identify the fact that such pins have been used in a restoration, and is used only once per tooth regardless of the number of pins used.
